ما قالوا في صوم (يوم) عاشوراءFasting on the Day of Ashura
Hadith 9608
٩٦٠٨ - حدثنا عبيد اللَّه بن موسى قال: أخبرنا شيبان عن أشعث بن أبي الشعثاء عن جعفر بن أبي ثور عن جابر بن سمرة قال: كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ يأمرنا بصيام عاشوراء ويحثنا عليه أو يتعاهدنا عنده فلما فرض رمضان لم يأمرنا ولم (ينهنا) (١) (عنه) (٢) ولم يتعاهدنا عنده (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command us to fast on the day of Ashura, encourage us to do so, and make arrangements for it. When the fasting of Ramadan was made obligatory, he neither commanded it, nor forbade it, nor made arrangements for it.
