Hadith 8911
٨٩١١ - حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش عن أبي إسحاق عن (هبيرة) (١) عن علي قال: كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ إذا (دخلت) (٢) العشر (الأواخر) (٣) أيقظ أهله ورفع المئزر، قيل لأبي بكر: ما رفع المئزر؟ قال: اعتزال النساء (٤).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the last ten days of Ramadan would arrive, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would wake up his family and tighten his waistcloth. Hazrat Abu Bakr bin Ayyash was asked what is meant by tightening the waistcloth? He replied that it means abstaining from women.
