Hadith 8782
٨٧٨٢ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا علي بن مبارك عن (أبي حكيمة) (١) (العبدي) (٢) قال، كنا نكتب المصاحف بالكوفة فيمر علينا علي (فيقوم) (٣) فينظر فيعجبه خطنا ويقول: هكذا نوروا ما نور اللَّه (٤).
Hazrat Abu Hakimah Abdi narrates that we used to write manuscripts of the Qur'an in Kufa. Once, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by us and began to watch us. He found our handwriting pleasing and said, "Illuminate this thing in the same way as Allah has bestowed it with light."
