Ibrahim narrates that Hazrat Jundub and Hazrat Masruq once set out with the intention of offering the Maghrib prayer. Both of them caught one rak‘ah of Maghrib with the Imam. When the Imam finished the prayer with salam, during the completion of their remaining prayer, Hazrat Masruq sat after the second rak‘ah, while Hazrat Jundub did not sit. In the rak‘ah that was performed with the Imam, Hazrat Jundub recited (Qira’at), but Hazrat Masruq did not recite. When the actions of both of them were mentioned before Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that both did well, but I would do as Masruq did.
