Hadith 8558
٨٥٥٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: ثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن هشام بن إسحاق بن عبد اللَّه بن كنانة عن أبيه قال: أرسلني أمير من الأمراء إلى ابن عباس (أسأله) (١) عن ⦗٣٢١⦘ الاستسقاء فقال ابن عباس: ما منعه أن (يسألني) (٢) ثم قال ابن عباس: خرج رسول اللَّه ﷺ متواضعا (متبذلًا) (٣) متخشعا متضرعا (مترسلًا) (٤) (فصلى) (٥) ركعتين كما يصلي في العيد ولم يخطب (خطبتكم) (٦) هذه (٧).
Hazrat Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Kinanah narrates that a leader sent me to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) so that I could ask him about the prayer for rain (Salat al-Istisqa). Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Why did he not ask me about this himself?" Then he said, "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came with humility, without adornment, with submissiveness and supplication, walking slowly, and he led the prayer in the same manner as he used to lead the Eid prayer, but he did not deliver a sermon in it."
