Hadith 7954
٧٩٥٤ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا هشام الدستوائي عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي راشد عن (عبد اللَّه) (١) بن شبل قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "اقرؤوا القرآن ولا تأكلوا به ولا (تستكثروا) (٢) به ولا (تجفوا) (٣) عنه ولا تغلوا فيه" (٤).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Shibl narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not make the Qur'an a means of livelihood, do not consider your connection with the Noble Qur'an to be excessive, do not exceed the literal and intended limits of the Noble Qur'an, and do not turn away from the Noble Qur'an.
