Hadith 7777
٧٧٧٧ - حدثنا وكيع ثنا سفيان (عن) (١) إبراهيم بن أبي حفصة قال: قلت لعلي ابن حسين إن أبا حمزة الثمالي -وكان فيه غلو- يقول: لا نصلي خلف الأئمة ولا نناكح إلا من يرى مثل ما رأينا فقال: علي بن حسين (بل) (٢) نصلي خلفهم ونناكحهم بالسنة (٣).
Hazrat Ibrahim bin Abi Hafsah narrates that I said to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Hussain that Abu Hamzah Thumali is an extremist person and he says that we will not pray behind the Imams and we will not marry anyone whose opinion does not match our opinion. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Hussain replied that we do pray behind them and we also marry them according to the Sunnah.
