Hadith 7654
٧٦٥٤ - حدثنا وكيع قال: نا الأعمش عن أبي وائل عن حذيفة، قال: إن العبد المسلم إذا توضأ فأحسن الوضوء ثم قام يصلي أقبل اللَّه عليه بوجهه حتى يكون هو الذي ينصرف أو يحدث حدث سوء، فلا يبزق بين يديه ولا عن يمينه (فإن عن يمينه) (١) كاتب الحسنات، ولكن يبزق عن (يساره) (٢) أو خلف ظهره (٣).
Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when a Muslim servant performs ablution properly and stands for prayer, Allah Almighty turns His full attention towards him. This continues until he finishes the prayer or until he becomes impure. Therefore, he should not spit in front of himself or to his left, because on the right side is the angel who records good deeds. Rather, he should spit to his left or behind himself.
