في تخليق المساجدApplying Saffron-Based Fragrance in Mosques
Hadith 7641
٧٦٤١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (نا) (١) (أبو) (٢) معاوية عن عاصم عن العباس (ابن) (٣) عبد الرحمن الهاشمي، قال: أول ما خلقت المساجد أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ رأى ⦗٩٥⦘ في المسجد نخامة، فحكها ثم أمر بخلوق فلطخ مكانها قال: فخلق الناس المساجد (٤).
Hazrat Abbas bin Abdur Rahman Hashimi narrates that the practice of applying saffron-based fragrance in mosques began in this way: Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw spit on the floor of the mosque. He ordered it to be cleaned and then said that saffron-based fragrance should be applied to that spot. After that, people started applying saffron-based fragrance in mosques.
