Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b narrates that there was a man in Madinah, and in my opinion, among those who faced the Qiblah and prayed, his house was the farthest from the mosque. Someone said to him, "You should get a donkey so that during rain and darkness you can ride it to the mosque." He replied, "I do not like at all that my house should be adjacent to the mosque." This matter was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he himself also presented himself and said, "Are my steps to and from the mosque also written in my book of deeds?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Allah has granted you this as well, and in addition, whatever deed in which you hoped for reward, Allah has granted you that too."
