القرب من المسجد أفضل أم البعدIs it better to live closer or farther from the mosque?
Hadith 6144
٦١٤٤ - حدثنا ابن علية عن يونس عن الحسن أن بني سلمة كانت دورهم قاصية عن المسجد فهموا أن يتحولوا قريبًا من المسجد فيشهدون الصلاة مع النبي ﷺ[فقال (لهم) (١) النبي ﷺ] (٢): "ألا تحتسبون آثاركم يا بني سلمة؟ "، فثبتوا في ديارهم (٣).
Hasan narrates that the houses of Banu Salamah were far from the mosque. They decided to move closer to the mosque so that they could pray with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to them, "O Banu Salamah! Do you not wish to earn reward for your footsteps?" They replied, "Why not?" Then they remained in their same houses.
