Hadith 597
٥٩٧ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبد اللَّه بن يحيى التوأم عن ابن أبي مليكة عن أمه عن عائشة قالت: انطلق النبي ﷺ يبول، فاتبعه عمر بماء، فقال: "ما هذا يا عمر؟ " فقال: ماء توضأ به: فقال: "ما أمرت كلما بلت أن أتوضأ، ولو فعلت لكانت سنة" (١).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to urinate, so Hazrat Umar followed him carrying water. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Umar! What is this?" He replied, "This is water, so that you may perform ablution with it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I have not been commanded to perform ablution after every urination. If I do so, this act will become a part of the religion."
