في العيدين يجتمعان يجزئ أحدهما (من) (الآخر)If Jumu'ah and Eid fall on the same day, what is the ruling?
Hadith 5963
٥٩٦٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (أبو) (١) خالد الأحمر عن عبد الحميد بن جعفر عن وهب بن كيسان قال: اجتمع عيدان في عهد ابن الزبير فأخر الخروج ثم خرج فخطب فأطال الخطبة، ثم صلى ولم يخرج إلى الجمعة، فعاب ذلك أناس عليه فبلغ ذلك (٢) ابن عباس فقال: أصاب السنة. فبلغ ابن الزبير فقال: شهدت العيد مع عمر فصنع كما صنعت (٣).
Hazrat Wahb bin Kaysan narrates that once during the time of Hazrat Ibn Zubair, Eid and Friday fell on the same day. Hazrat Ibn Zubair delayed coming out; when he came out, he delivered a sermon and gave a long sermon, then led the prayer and did not come for the Friday prayer. People considered his action as following the Sunnah. When this was conveyed to Hazrat Ibn Zubair, he said that I performed the Eid prayer with Hazrat Umar, and he also did as I have done.
