Hadith 5514
٥٥١٤ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن الحسن بن (الحر) (١) عن ميمون بن (أبي) (٢) (شبيب) (٣) قال: أردت الجمعة في زمن الحجاج فتهيأت للذهاب ثم قلت: (أين) (٤) أذهب؟ أصلي خلف هذا قال: فقلت مرة أذهب ومرة لا أذهب قال: (فاجتمع) (٥) رأيي على الذهاب قال: فناداني مناد من جانب البيت ﴿يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَاةِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ﴾ [الجمعة: ٩]، قال: وجلست مرة أكتب كتابا فعرض في شيء إن أنا كتبته في كتابي زين كتابي، وكنت قد كذبت وإن أنا تركه كان في كتابي بعض القبح، وكنت قد صدقت، فقلت مرة أكتبه وقلت مرة لا أكتبه قال: (فاجتمع) (٦) رأيي على تركه فتركته قال: فناداني مناد من جانب البيت: ﴿يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ﴾ [إبراهيم: ٢٧].
Hazrat Maymun bin Abi Shabib says that during the time of Hajjaj bin Yusuf, I intended to go for Friday prayer and also made preparations. Then I thought in my heart, "Why should I pray behind him?" Sometimes I would think to go, and sometimes I would think not to go. Eventually, my final decision was to go for the prayer. At that moment, I heard a caller from the direction of the Ka'bah say: "O you who believe! When the call for prayer is made on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trade." In the same way, once I sat down to write a letter and a thought came to my mind which was contrary to the truth, but by writing it, my letter would become more adorned. Sometimes I would think to embellish the letter with a lie, and sometimes I would think to leave it and keep the letter based on truth. In any case, my decision was to leave it. Upon this, I heard a caller from the direction of the Ka'bah say: "Allah keeps the believers firm with the firm word in this world and in the Hereafter."
