الإمام إذا جلس على المنبر يسلمWhen the imam sits on the minbar, he should greet with salam
Hadith 5301
٥٣٠١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا (١) أبو أسامة قال حدثنا مجالد عن الشعبي قال: كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ إذا صعد المنبر يوم الجمعة استقبل الناس بوجهه فقال: "السَّلَامُ عَلَيكُمْ"، ويحمد اللَّه ويثني عليه ويقرأ سورة ثم يجلس ثم يقوم فيخطب ثم ينزل وكان أبو بكر وعمر يفعلانه (٢).
Hazrat Sha'bi narrates that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would ascend the pulpit on the day of Jumu'ah, he would face the people and say, "Assalamu Alaikum." Then he would praise and glorify Allah, and recite a Surah. Then he would sit down, and then stand up and deliver the sermon. Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar also used to do the same.
