Hadith 5082
٥٠٨٢ - حدثنا هشيم قال أخبرنا (١) يزيد بن (أبي) (٢) زياد عن ابن أبي ليلى عن البراء بن عازب قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إِنَّ مِنَ الْحَقِّ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ أنْ يغْتَسْلَ أَحَدُهُمْ يَوْمَ الْجَمُعَةِ وَأَنْ يَمَسَّ مِنْ طِيبٍ إِنْ كَانَ عِنْدَ أَهْلهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عِنْدَهُ طِيبٌ فَالْمَاءَ لَهُ طِيبٌ" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Bara bin Azib that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is obligatory upon Muslims to perform ghusl (ritual bath) on the day of Friday. If they have perfume, they should apply it, and if they do not have perfume, then water is a perfume for them.
