Hadith 40637
٤٠٦٣٧ - حدثنا إسحاق بن سليمان قال: حدثنا أبو سنان عن عمرو بن مرة قال: جاء (سليمان) (١) بن صرد إلى علي بن أبي طالب بعدما فرغ من قتال يوم الجمل، وكانت له صحبة مع النبي ﵇، فقال له علي: خذلتنا وجلست عنا وفعلت على رؤوس الناس؟ فلقي سليمانُ الحسنَ بن علي فقال: ما لقيت من أمير المؤمنين؟ قال: (قال) (٢) لي: كذا وكذا على رؤوس الناس، (فقال) (٣): لا يهولنك هذا منه فإنه محارب، فلقد رأيته يوم الجمل حين أخذت السيوف ⦗٥١٤⦘ (مأخذها) (٤) يقول: لوددت أني مت قبل هذا اليوم بعشرين سنة (٥).
It is narrated from Amr bin Murrah who says that Sulaiman bin Surad came to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) after the Battle of Jamal, after the fighting had ended. He was a companion. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "You have disgraced us and you stayed behind from us." Hazrat Sulaiman bin Surad met Hasan and said to him, "Did you not meet the Commander of the Faithful? He said this to me." Hasan replied, "Do not be afraid of what he said, for he is a warrior. I saw him on the day of the Battle of Jamal when I had firmly gripped my sword, and he was saying, 'I wish I had died twenty years before this day.'"
