Hadith 40580
٤٠٥٨٠ - حدثنا محمد بن بشر قال: سمعت (حميد) (١) بن عبد اللَّه بن الأصم يذكر عن أم راشد جدته قالت: كنت عند أم هانئ فأتاها علي، فدعت له بطعام فقال: ما لي لا أرى عندكم بركة -يعني الشاة، (قالت) (٢): فقالت: سبحان اللَّه، بلى واللَّه إن عندنا (لبركة) (٣)، قال: إنما أعني الشاة، قالت: ونزلت فلقيت رجلين في الدرجة، فسمعت أحدهما يقول لصاحبه: بايعته أيدينا ولم تبايعه قلولنا، [(قالت) (٤): فقلت: من (هذان) (٥) الرجلان؟ فقالوا: طلحة والزبير، قالت: فإني قد سمعت أحدهما يقول لصاحبه: بايعته أيدينا ولم تبايعه قلوبنا] (٦)، فقال علي: ﴿فَمَنْ نَكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنْكُثُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِمَا عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهُ اللَّهَ فَسَيُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا﴾ [الفتح: ١٠] (٧).
It is narrated from Umm Rashid that she says: I was with Umm Hani when Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came to her. Umm Hani invited him to eat. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: What is the matter, I do not see "Barakat" (a goat) at your place. Umm Hani said: Subhan Allah, why not! By Allah, we have Barakat. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I meant a goat. When I went down, I met two men on the stairs. I heard one of them saying to the other: Our hands have pledged allegiance, but our hearts have not. Umm Rashid asked: Who are these? The people replied: Talha and Zubair. I heard one of them saying to the other: Our hands have pledged allegiance, but our hearts have not. Then Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse { فَمَنْ نَکَثَ فَإِنَّمَا یَنْکُثُ عَلَی نَفْسِہِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَی بِمَا عَاہَدَ عَلَیْہُ اللَّہَ فَسَیُؤْتِیہِ أَجْرًا عَظِیمًا }. (Whoever breaks the covenant, its burden will be upon him; and whoever fulfills the covenant he made with Allah, Allah will give him a great reward).
