Hadith 40568
٤٠٥٦٨ - حدثنا ابن إدريس عن هارون (١) بن (أبي) (٢) إبراهيم عن عبد اللَّه بن عبيد بن عمير أن الأشتر وابن الزبير التقيا فقال ابن الزبير: فما ضربته (٣) (ضربة) (٤) حتى ضربني خمسا أو ستا، قال: ثم قال: (و) (٥) ألقاني (برجلي) (٦) (ثم قال) (٧): (واللَّه) (٨) لولا قرابتك من رسول اللَّه ﷺ ما تركت منك عضوا مع صاحبه قال: وقالت عائشة: (واثكل) (٩) أسماء، قال: فلما كان بعد أعطت الذي بشرها به أنه حي عشرة آلاف (١٠).
Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair narrates that Ashtar and Ibn Zubair confronted each other (in the Battle of Jamal). Ibn Zubair says: I did not strike Ashtar even once until he struck me five or six times and made me fall at my feet. Then he said: By Allah, if it were not for your relationship with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I would not have left a single limb of yours unharmed. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) saw this scene and cried out, "Oh Asma!" When Ashtar went away, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) gave ten thousand dirhams to the person who came and brought the good news that Abdullah bin Zubair was alive.
