Hadith 40564
٤٠٥٦٤ - حدثنا جرير عن عطاء بن السائب عن الشعبي قال: قسم علي مواريث من (قتل) (١) يوم الجمل على فرائض المسلمين: للمرأة ثمنها وللابنة نصيبها، وللابن فريضته، وللأم سهمها (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that on the day of the Battle of Jamal, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) distributed the inheritance of those who were killed in the same manner as the shares of Muslims: he gave the woman one-eighth, gave the daughter her share, gave the son his share, and gave the mother the share that was due to her.
