ما ذكر في عثمان ﵁On the Mention of Uthman (رضی اللہ عنہ)
Hadith 40492
٤٠٤٩٢ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن بكر قال: حدثنا حاتم بن أبي (صغيرة) (١) عن عمرو ابن دينار قال: لما ذكروا من شأن عثمان الذي ذكروا أقبل عبد الرحمن بن عوف في نفر من أصحابه حتى دخلوا على عبد اللَّه بن عمر (فقالوا) (٢): يا أبا عبد الرحمن ألا ترى ما قد أحدث هذا الرجل؟ فقال: بخ، بخ، فما تأمروني؟ تريدون أن تكونوا مثل الروم و (فارس) (٣) إذا غضبوا على ملك قتلوه، قد ولاه اللَّه الذي ولاه فهو أعلم لست بقائل في شأنه شيئًا (٤).
It is narrated from Amr bin Dinar who says: When there was mention about Hazrat Uthman, as people usually mention, Abdur Rahman came along with some of his companions and went to Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar. Then the people said, "O Abdur Rahman, do you not see how many things this man (Hazrat Uthman) has introduced?" Abdur Rahman replied, "Wow, what are you commanding me to do? Do you want to become like the Romans and Persians, that when they are displeased with their king, they kill him? Allah Almighty has entrusted this leadership to him, and He knows best. I cannot say anything against him."
