Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair that he said: I submitted to Hazrat Uthman on the day (of the siege) of the house, "You should go out and fight them. Surely, there are people with you whom Allah Almighty has helped with even less than this. By Allah, fighting them is lawful." He replied that Hazrat Uthman refused and said, "The person upon whom listening to me and obeying me is obligatory should obey Abdullah bin Zubair." And Hazrat Uthman appointed him as the leader of the house that day, and Hazrat Uthman was fasting that day.
