ما جاء في (وفاة) النبي ﷺHadiths Regarding the Death of the Prophet (ﷺ)
Hadith 39801
٣٩٨٠١ - حدثنا جعفر بن عون عن ابن جريج عن عطاء قال: بلغنا أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ حين مات، قال: أقبل الناس يدخلون فيصلون عليه ثم يخرجون ويدخل آخرون كذلك، قال: قلت لعطاء: يصلون ويدعون، قال: يصلون ويستغفرون (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ata that he says: We have received this information that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, people would enter (the chamber) to offer prayer over him, and then leave. Then, in the same way, other people would go inside. The narrator says: I asked Hazrat Ata, "Did they offer prayer and supplicate?" Ata said, "They offered prayer and sought forgiveness."
