Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Yahya bin ‘Abbad bin ‘Abdullah bin Zubair narrates from his father and grandfather that a man from Banu Murrah, whose wife had nursed me, related to me. He said: It is as if I am seeing Ja‘far in the Battle of Mu’tah; he dismounted from his white and red horse, then cut its thighs, and went on and fought until he was killed (martyred).
