Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Umar narrates that if it were not for the rule that the rear part of the army should not receive anything, then whenever the Muslims conquered a settlement of the disbelievers, I would have distributed it among the Muslims in shares, just as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed Khaybar among the Muslims in shares. But I wish that a principle should continue among the Muslims. And I dislike that nothing should be given to those who come later.
