Hazrat Iyas bin Salamah narrates from his father that we set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the expedition of Hudaybiyyah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed one hundred animals. Our number was seventeen hundred, and they had preparations of weapons, men, and horses. Among the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) animals was also a camel. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) camped at Hudaybiyyah, the Quraysh made a peace agreement with him on the condition that the sacrificial animals would be made lawful (i.e., slaughtered) at the place where they had been stopped.
