Hadith 39614
٣٩٦١٤ - حدثنا علي بن هاشم عن ابن أبي ليلى عن الحكم عن مقسم عن ابن عباس قال: قدم رسول اللَّه ﷺ وأصحابه في الهدنة التي كانت قبل الصلح الذي كان بينه وبينهم، قال: والمشركون عند باب الندوة مما يلي الحِجْر، وقد تحدثوا أن برسول اللَّه ﷺ وأصحابه جهدا وهزلا، فلما استلموا، [قال: قال لهم رسول اللَّه ⦗٥٢٤⦘ ﷺ: ("إنهم قد تحدثوا أن بكم (جهدا وهُزلا)) (١) (٢)] (٣) (فارملوا) (٤) ثلاثة أشواط حتى يروا أن بكم قوة"، قال: فلما استلموا الحجر رفعوا أرجلهم فرملوا، حتى قال بعضهم لبعض: أليس زعمتم أن بهم (هزلا) (٥)، وهم لا يرضون بالمشي حتى يسعوا سعيا (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions came after the treaty that took place between the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the polytheists. The narrator says: The polytheists were present near the Bab al-Nadwah adjacent to the Black Stone and were conversing among themselves that weakness and frailty had afflicted the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions. So when the companions performed Istilam, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the companions: These people are saying among themselves that weakness and frailty have afflicted you. Therefore, perform Ramal in three circuits so that they may see that you are strong. The narrator says: When the companions performed Istilam, as soon as they lifted their feet, they began Ramal. Upon this, some of the polytheists said to others: Was it not your opinion that weakness and frailty had afflicted them? Yet these people are not content with merely walking unless they run.
