Hadith 39610
٣٩٦١٠ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن محمد بن إسحاق عن الزهري عن عروة ابن الزبير عن مروان أن (رسول) (١) اللَّه ﷺ خرج عام صدوه، فلما انتهى إلى الحديبية اضطرب في الحل، وكان مصلاه في الحرم، فلما كتبوا القضية وفرغوا منها دخل (على) (٢) (الناس) (٣) من ذلك أمر عظيم قال: فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "يا أيها الناس انحروا، وأحلقوا، وأحلوا"، فما قام رجل من الناس، ثم أعادها فما قام أحد من الناس، فدخل على أم سلمة فقال: "ما رأيتِ ما دخل على الناس"، فقالت: يا رسول اللَّه اذهب فانحر هديك واحلق (وأحل) (٤)، فإن الناس سيحلون فنحر رسول اللَّه ﷺ وحلق وأحل (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Marwan that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him... the year when the polytheists prevented him, peace and blessings be upon him... that year he set out, and when he, peace and blessings be upon him, reached Hudaybiyyah, he, peace and blessings be upon him, was forcibly stopped in the area of Hil, while his intention, peace and blessings be upon him, was to pray in the Haram. When the people wrote the agreement and finished writing it, the people became very disheartened by this decision. The narrator says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O people! Sacrifice (your animals), shave your heads, and become lawful (i.e., come out of Ihram). No one stood up. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said this again, but still no one stood up. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went to Hazrat Umm Salamah and said: What is your opinion about the state the people have reached? She replied: O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! Go and sacrifice your offering, shave your head, and become lawful. The people will also become lawful. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sacrificed (his animal), shaved his head, and became lawful.
