Hadith 39428
٣٩٤٢٨ - حدثنا وكيع عن إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن حارثة بن مُضَرِّب عن علي قال: لقد رأيتنا يوم بدر ونحن نلوذ برسول اللَّه ﷺ وهو أقربنا إلى (العدو) (١) (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed, I saw ourselves (i.e., the companions) on the day of Badr taking shelter behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was the closest of all of us to the enemy.
