Hadith 39423
٣٩٤٢٣ - حدثنا عبد الأعلى بن عبد الأعلى عن داود عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: لما كان يوم بدر قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من صنع كذا وكذا ((فله) (١) كذا وكذا) (٢) "، قال: (فتسارع) (٣) (٤) (شبان) (٥) الرجال، وبقيت الشيوخ تحت الرايات، فلما كانت الغنائم جاؤوا يطلبون الذي جعل لهم، فقال الشيوخ: لا تستأثرون علينا فإنا كلنا (ردءكم) (٦) وكنا تحت الرايات، ولو انكشفتم انكشفتم إلينا، فتنازعوا فأنزل اللَّه: ﴿يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْأَنْفَالِ﴾ إلى قوله: ﴿وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ﴾ (٧).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when it was the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does such and such will have such and such (reward). The narrator says: Upon hearing this, the young men began to show eagerness, and only the elderly remained under the banners. Then, when the spoils (were gathered), these young men came to take their (appointed) reward. The elders said: You are not more deserving than us, for we were your helpers and we were under the banners. If you had retreated, you would have retreated towards us. Thus, they began to dispute among themselves. So Allah Almighty revealed these verses, from { یَسْأَلُونَک عَنِ الأَنْفَالِ } to { وَأَطِیعُوا اللَّہَ وَرَسُولَہُ إِنْ کُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِینَ }.
