Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Qasim bin Abdur Rahman that the first person to spread the Qur'an in Makkah from the blessed mouth of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him. And the first person to build a mosque in which prayer was performed was Ammar bin Yasir. And the first person to give the call to prayer (adhan) was Hazrat Bilal. And the first person to shoot an arrow in the way of Allah was Sa'd bin Malik. And the first among the Muslims to be killed was Hazrat Mihja'. And the first person to ride his horse in the way of Allah was Hazrat Miqdad. And the first tribe to give charity on behalf of their lives was Banu Uzrah. And the first tribe to be allied with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was Juhainah.
