Hadith 39234
٣٩٢٣٤ - حدثنا ابن عيينة عن (ضمرة) (١) بن سعيد قال: سمعت عبيد اللَّه بن عبد اللَّه بن عتبة يقول: خرج عمر يوم عيد فسأل أبا واقد الليثي: بأي شيء قرأ النبي ﷺ في هذا اليوم؟ فقال: بقاف واقتربت (٢).
Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah narrates that Hazrat Umar went out on the day of Eid, so Abu Waqid Laithi asked: What would the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recite on this day? He replied: "Qaf" and "Iqtarabat." And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that specifying a particular surah for Jumu'ah and the two Eids is disliked.
