Hadith 39206
٣٩٢٠٦ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن المبارك عن سعيد بن يزيد قال: سمعت خالد بن أبي عمران يحدث عن حنش عن فضالة بن عبيد قال: أتى (النبي) (١) ﷺ يوم خيبر بقلادة فيها خرز معلقة بذهب ابتاعها رجل بسبعة دنانير، أو بتسعة دنانير، فأتى النبي ﷺ فذكر ذلك له فقال: "لا، حتى (تميز) ما بينهما" (٢)، قال: إنما أردت الحجارة، قال: "لا، حتى (تميز) (٣) ما بينهما"، قال: فرده حتى ميز (٤).
Hazrat Fadala bin Ubaid narrates that on the day of Khaybar, a necklace was brought to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which pearls were hanging along with gold. A man bought this necklace for seven or nine dinars. Then this necklace was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the matter of its purchase was also mentioned before him. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No! Not until both are separated. Someone asked: Is your intention regarding the stones? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No! Not until these two are separated. The narrator says he returned the necklace until they were separated.
