Hadith 39168
٣٩١٦٨ - حدثنا ابن إدريس عن ليث عن طاوس عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "صلاة الليل مثنى مثنى، فإذا خشيت الصبح فأوتر (بركعة) (١) " (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The night prayer is in sets of two rak'ahs. So when you fear the arrival of morning, then pray one rak'ah as witr.
