Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdur Rahman narrates from his father Abu Saeed that he heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I declare the area between the two stony grounds of Madinah as a sanctuary (Haram), just as Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah as a sanctuary." The narrator says that if Abu Saeed saw any of us holding a bird in his hand, he would stop him and then set the bird free.
