ما قالوا: في البكاء من خشية اللهOn Weeping from the Fear of Allah
Hadith 38466
٣٨٤٦٦ - حدثنا الحسن بن موسى قال: حدثنا سعيد بن زيد قال: حدثنا سعيد ابن إياس الجُريري قال: حدثنا أبو العلاء أن رجلا من أصحاب النبي ﷺ أدركته الوفاة فجعل يقول: وَالهَفَاه! والهفاه! فقيل (له) (١): (لم) (٢) تَلَهَّف؟ فقال: إني سألت رسول اللَّه ﷺ، قلت: ما يكفيني من الدنيا؟ قال: خادم ومركب، فلا أنا سكت فلم أسأله ولا أنا حين سألته انتهيت إلى قوله، وأصبت من الدنيا وفي يدي ما في يدي وجاءني الموت (٣).
Hazrat Abu Alaa (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that when the time of death approached for one of the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), he began to say, "Alas, alas." He was asked, "What are you grieving over?" He replied, "I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), 'What will be sufficient for me in this world?' The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, 'A servant and a mount.' But I neither remained silent and refrained from asking, nor did I act upon what I was told when I asked. I acquired worldly possessions, and now I own such and such wealth, and death has overtaken me."
