ما قالوا: في البكاء من خشية اللهOn Weeping from the Fear of Allah
Hadith 38453
٣٨٤٥٣ - حدثنا (هشيم) (١) قال: أخبرنا يونس بن عبيد قال: حدثنا (الحسن) (٢) أن رجلين من أصحاب رسول اللَّه ﷺ مات أحدهما قبل صاحبه بجمعة ففضلوا الذي مات وكان في أنفسهم أفضل من الآخر، فذكر ذلك لرسول اللَّه ﷺ فقال: "أليس بقي الآخر بعد الأول جمعة، صلى كذا وكذا صلاة"، قال: فكأنه فضل (الباقي) (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that out of two companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), one passed away a week before the other, so people considered the one who died earlier to be superior. They thought in their minds that he was better than the other. Then this matter was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), so he said: "Did the second not live one more Friday than the first, and did he not perform that many more prayers?" It was as if the Prophet (peace be upon him) was giving preference to the second over the first.
