Hadith 3796
٣٧٩٦ - حدثنا هشيم قال: أنا خالد عن أبي قلابة: أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال لأصحابه: "هَلْ تَقْرَأونَ خَلْفَ إِمَامِكُمْ؟ " (فقال) (١) بعض: نعم، وقال بعض: لا، فقال: "إِنْ كُنْتُم لَابُدَّ فَاعِلينَ فَلْيَقْرَأ أَحَدُكُمْ فَاتِحَةَ الْكِتَابِ فِي نَفْسِهِ" (٢).
Hazrat Abu Qalabah narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his companions, "Do you recite (Qur'an) behind your Imam?" Some said yes, and some denied. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you must recite, then recite only Surah Al-Fatihah in your heart."
