Hadith 37814
٣٧٨١٤ - حدثنا إسماعيل ابن علية عن أبي (مخزوم) (١) قال: حدثني عمر بن أبي الوليد قال: خرج عمر بن عبد العزيز يوم (جمعة) (٢) وهو ناحل الجسم ⦗٥٠٤⦘ (يخطب) (٣)، كما كان يخطب ثم قال: (٤) أيها الناس من أحسن منكم فليحمد اللَّه، ومن (أساء) (٥) فليستغفر اللَّه، فإنه لا بد لأقوام أن يعملوا أعمالا وضعها اللَّه في رقابهم وكتبها عليهم.
Hazrat Umar bin Al-Waleed narrates. He says that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz came out one Friday … his body was very weak … he delivered the sermon as he used to deliver the sermon. Then he said: O people! Whoever among you does a good deed should praise Allah. And whoever among you does a bad deed should seek forgiveness from Allah. Because it is necessary for people that they perform deeds and Allah will place those deeds upon their necks and will record those deeds for them.
