ما جاء في فضل ذكر اللهVirtues of the Remembrance of Allah
Hadith 37778
٣٧٧٧٨ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن يحيى بن سعيد عن أبي الزبير عن طاوس عن (معاذ بن جبل) (١) قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "ما عمل بن آدم (من) (٢) عمل أنجى له من النار من ذكر اللَّه، (قالوا) (٣): يا رسول اللَّه ولا الجهاد في سبيل اللَّه؟ قال: "ولا الجهاد في سبيل اللَّه، تضرب بسيفك حتى ينقطع ثم تضرب به حتى ينقطع" -ثلاثًا (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Mu'adh bin Jabal that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No deed of the son of Adam saves him from the Fire more than the remembrance of Allah." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, not even striving in the way of Allah (jihad fi sabilillah)?" He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Not even striving in the way of Allah—unless you strike with your sword until it breaks, then you strike (with another sword) until it too breaks." He said this three times.
