Hadith 37353
٣٧٣٥٣ - حدثنا يحيى بن يمان عن سفيان عن ليث عن رجل عن ابن عمر قال: لا يكون رجل من أهل العلم حتى لا يحسد من فوقه ولا يحقر من دونه، (و) (١) لا (يبتغي) (٢) بعلمه ثمنا (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: A person is counted among the people of knowledge when he does not envy those above him, does not consider those below him insignificant, and does not seek wealth through his knowledge.
