Hadith 37343
٣٧٣٤٣ - حدثنا أبو أسامة قال: حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة قال: حدثنا ثابت البناني قال: كان أبو عبيدة بن الجراح أميرا على الشام فخطب الناس فقال: يا أيها الناس إني امرؤ من قريش، وإني واللَّه ما أعلم أحمر ولا أسود يفضلني بتقوى (اللَّه) (١) إلا وددت أني في مسلاخه (٢).
Hazrat Thabit Banani narrates that Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah was the governor of the land of Syria. He delivered a sermon to the people and said: O people! I am a man from the Quraish, and by God! I do not know of any red or black person better than myself who, due to the fear of God, possesses superiority over me, except that I would like to live a life like his.
