Hadith 37138
٣٧١٣٨ - حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن (عبيدة) (١) عن عبد اللَّه قال: قال لي رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "اقرأ علي القرآن"، (قال) (٢): قلت: يا رسول اللَّه أقرأ عليك وعليك أنزل؟ قال: "إني أشتهي أن أسمعه من غيري"، قال: فقرأت ⦗٢٩١⦘ النساء حتى إذا بلغت: ﴿فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ شَهِيدًا﴾ [النساء: ٤١]، رفعت رأسي أو غمزني رجل إلى جنبي، فرأيت دموعه تسيل (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah that he says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: "Recite the Qur'an to me." Hazrat Abdullah says, I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon you! Should I recite it to you, while it has been revealed to you?" He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I desire to hear it from someone other than myself." The narrator says, so I began to recite Surah An-Nisa, until when I reached { فَکَیْفَ إذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ کُلِّ أُمَّۃٍ بِشَہِیدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِکَ عَلَی ہَؤُلاَئِ شَہِیدًا }, I raised my head... or a man sitting beside me made me attentive... so I saw that the eyes of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, were flowing with tears.
