Hadith 37067
٣٧٠٦٧ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا هشام عن الحسن قال: كان النبي ⦗٢٦٦⦘ ﷺ تأخذه العبادة حتى يخرج على الناس كأنه (الشن) (١) البالي (٢)، وكان أصبح الناس، فقيل: (يا) (٣) رسول اللَّه (٤) أليس قد غفر اللَّه لك؟ قال: "أفلا أكون عبدا شكورا" (٥).
It is narrated from Hasan that he says: The worship of (Allah) would so occupy the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he (peace be upon him) would come to the people, it was as if he (peace be upon him) was like a very old water-skin. He (peace be upon him) was the most beautiful of all people. So it was submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Is it not the case that Allah Almighty has forgiven you?" He (peace be upon him) replied: "Then should I not be a grateful servant?"
