Hadith 37064
٣٧٠٦٤ - حدثنا محمد بن بشر (قال: حدثنا) (١): محمد بن عمرو قال: حدثنا صفوان بن سليم عن محمود بن لبيد قال: لما نزلت هذه السورة على رسول اللَّه ﷺ: ﴿أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ (١) حَتَّى زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ﴾ حتى بلغ: ﴿لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ﴾ (قالوا) (٢): أي رسول اللَّه (٣) عن أي نعيم نسأل (إنما هما الأسودان: الماء والتمر (٤)، ⦗٢٦٥⦘ وسيوفنا على رقابنا والعدو حاضر، فعن أي نعيم نسأل؟) (٥) قال: "إن ذلك سيكون" (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Mahmood bin Labeed that he said: When this Surah { أَلْہَاکُمُ التَّکَاثُرُ حَتَّی زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ ۔ تا۔ ثم لَتُسْأَلُنَّ یَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِیمِ } was revealed to the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the people asked: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! About which blessings will we be questioned? There are only two blessings... water and dates. While our swords are upon our necks and the enemy is present. So then, about which blessings will we be questioned? The Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These circumstances will soon come.
