Hadith 36940
٣٦٩٤٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت عن أبي رافع عن أبي هريرة عن النبي ﷺ قال: "خرج رجل من قرية يزور أخا له في قرية أخرى، قال: (فأرسل) (١) اللَّه له ملكا فجلس على طريقه (فقال) (٢): أين تريد؟ فقال: أريد أخا لي أزوره في اللَّه في هذه القرية، فقال: هل له عليك من نعمة تربها؟ قال: لا، ولكني أحببته في اللَّه، قال: (فإني) (٣) رسول ربك إليك، إنه قد أحبك فيما أحببته فيه" (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man set out from his town to another town with the intention of visiting his brother. Allah appointed an angel for him on the way. The angel asked him, "Where are you intending to go?" The man replied, "I have a brother in that town; I am going to visit him for the sake of Allah." The angel asked, "Is there any favor of his upon you which you are seeking to repay?" The man replied, "No, rather I love him for the sake of Allah, the Exalted." The angel said, "Listen, I am a messenger of Allah to you. Verily, Allah loves you as you love your brother for His sake."
