من قال: لا صلاة إلا بفاتحة الكتاب،Those who say salah is not valid without Surah al-Fatihah and those who say another surah must also be recited
Hadith 3668
٣٦٦٨ - حدثنا ابن علية عن أيوب عن أبي العالية البرّاء قال: قلت لابن عمر: أفي كل ركعة أقرأ؟ فقال: إني لأستحي من رب هذا البيت أن لا أقرأ في كل ركعة بفاتحة الكتاب، وما تيسر. وسألت ابن عباس فقال: هو إمامك، فإن شئت فأقل منه، وإن شئت فأكثر (١).
Hazrat Abu Alia Bara says that I asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) whether I should recite (Qira'at) in every rak'ah? He replied, "I feel shy before the Lord of this House that I do not recite Surah Al-Fatihah and whatever is easy after it in every rak'ah." He says that I asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), so he said, "It is up to you; if you wish, recite less than that, and if you wish, recite more than that."
