Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Habib bin Abi Yahya narrates that during the battle of Sus, Hazrat Khalid bin Zaid lost his eye as a martyr. We laid siege to Sus, and during this time we had to endure much hardship. The commander of the army was Hazrat Abu Musa. A man from there obtained protection for himself and his family, so Hazrat Abu Musa told him to separate himself from the enemies. He began to take his family to a safe place. Hazrat Abu Musa said to his companions that it is possible he may deceive us. Accordingly, after securing his family, he joined the enemies again to fight. Hazrat Abu Musa ordered that he be arrested and brought forward; he was brought, and he requested to give a large amount of wealth in exchange for his life, but Hazrat Abu Musa refused and had him executed.
