35982 - Hammad ibn Salamah said: Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Bakr informed me from Anas ⦗10⦘ who said: There was a breach in their city, so Muhakkam al-Yamamah placed his feet on it, and he was great and huge in body, and he began to chant: "I am Muhakkam al-Yamamah, I am the pivot of the encampment, and I am, and I am." He said: He was their champion. When he was within striking distance, al-Bara’ struck him, and al-Bara’ defended himself with his shield, then al-Bara’ struck his leg and killed him. Muhakkam al-Yamamah had a broad plate armor with him, so he threw down his sword and took Muhakkam’s plate armor, then he attacked and struck with it until it broke, and he said: "May Allah disgrace what is between me and you," and he took his sword.
