٣٥٩٧٧ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا هشام عن محمد قال: كان الزبير يتبع القتلى يوم اليمامة، فإذا رأى رجلا به رمق أجهز عليه، قال: فانتهى إلى رجل مضطجع مع القتلى فأهوى إليه بالسيف فلما وجد مس السيف وثب يسعى، وسعى الزبير خلفه وهو يقول: أنا ابن صفية المهاجر، قال: فالتفت إليه (الرجل) (١) ⦗٨⦘ فقال: كيف ترى شد أخيك الكافر؟ قال: (فحاصره) (٢) حتى نجا (٣).
Muhammad narrates that Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) was searching among the slain on the day of the Battle of Yamama. Whenever he passed by a man, he would examine him, and if there was any sign of life left in him, he would send him away. He reached a man who was lying among the slain. When he struck him with his sword, the man got up and ran away. Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) chased after him, saying, "I am the emigrant son of Safiyyah." The man turned towards him and said, "How do you regard capturing your disbelieving brother?" Then he surrounded him, but the man escaped.
